Abstract

The reproducibility crisis in science is well-documented: more than 70% of researchers have failed to reproduce another scientist’s experiments, and more than half have failed to reproduce their own. The root cause is not technical incompetence but a cultural and infrastructural failure: research is still published as static PDFs rather than executable, verifiable workflows. This submission presents a case study in open, transparent research. I published “THE E8 → A5 → 3⊕5 PROJECTION” on TeraOpenScience, a computational proof that the 8-dimensional E8 lattice projects to the face-centered cubic (FCC) lattice in 3D. I did not publish a paper. I published the methodology, the complete dataset, and the exact Python script required to verify every claim. By doing this, I turned a complex theoretical paper into an interactive tool that anyone can run, test, and extend. This is not a proposal for how science should work. It is a demonstration of how science already works when the right infrastructure is in place. TeraOpenScience is that infrastructure. My project is the proof of concept.
