Long Description
Quantum Dot Solar Cells (QDSCs) are a type of solar cell that utilizes nanoscale semiconductor particles, known as quantum dots (QDs), to convert sunlight into electricity. These QDs are tiny crystals made of semiconductor materials, typically with diameters in the range of 2-10 nanometers. The unique properties of QDs, such as their tunable bandgap energy, high extinction coefficient, and high photoluminescence quantum yield, make them an attractive material for solar cell applications. By adjusting the size and composition of the QDs, the bandgap energy can be tailored to match the solar spectrum, allowing for efficient absorption of sunlight and conversion into electricity.
